BNB is the native token of the BNB Chain ecosystem and the utility token for the Binance exchange platform. Originally launched as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, BNB migrated to its own blockchain infrastructure comprising BNB Beacon Chain and BNB Smart Chain (BSC), an EVM-compatible network that hosts a large ecosystem of DeFi protocols and decentralized applications. On the Binance exchange, BNB is used for trading fee discounts, Launchpad token sale participation, and various platform services. The token has a quarterly auto-burn mechanism that progressively reduces total supply based on BNB Chain activity. BNB Chain maintains significant adoption in emerging markets and among cost-sensitive DeFi users due to its low gas fees.
